Das Steinhaus La Casanova liegt auf der Südseite eines Hügels, 300 m vom Stadtzentrum von Radda entfernt. Radda ist einer der bekanntesten Orte mit Hügellage und ist wegen seiner Cafés, Bars und Restaurants allseits beliebt. Das Haus gehört dem bekannten Fernsehkoch Luciano Porciatti. Er selbst wohnt im Haupthaus hinter dem Ferienhaus. Es gibt eine große Terrasse mit Liegestühlen und unverdecktem Blick über die Weingärten und Olivenhaine und die Hügel um Radda. HINWEIS: Der Pool wird auch von den Eigentümern benutzt.
Das nur 1 Stunde südlich von Florenz und 40 Minuten von Siena in der zentralen Weinregion des Chianti-Gebietes gelegene Haus genießt einen fantastischen Ausblick über die sanften, mit Olivenhainen, Weinreben und Wäldern bedeckten Hügel. Besonders gut können Sie diesen Blick von der das Haus umlaufenden Terrasse genießen, die mit einem Tisch und vier Stühlen möbliert ist.
Dieses Haus ist fünf Minuten Fußweg vom berühmten Dorf Radda in Chianti entfernt. In diesem freundlichen Dorf gibt es ein Coop-Geschäft, eine ausgezeichnete Fleischerei und Lucinanos eigenes Delikatessengeschäft, dessen Erzeugnisse in ganz Italien bekannt sind - www.casaporciatti.com. Mittags oder abends haben Sie die Wahl zwischen verschiedenen Restaurants, die alles von Gourmetküche bis zu köstlicher Pizza bieten.
Das Haus ist gemütlich und praktisch eingerichtet und verfügt über eine gut ausgestattete Küche, einen Fernseher mit Satellitenanschluss und ein hübsches Badezimmer sowie einen schönen Garten mit einer großen Terrasse, die bis zum Swimmingpool führt. Florenz und Siena sind von hier aus bequem mit dem Auto oder den selteneren öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen.
Die Unterkunft befindet sich auf einem Stockwerk, und der Eingang führt direkt in den Küchen- und Essbereich. Die Küche ist mit einem Elektroofen und einem Gasherd ausgestattet. Es gibt keinen Geschirrspüler. Wenn Sie Ihre Mahlzeiten im Haus genießen möchten, gibt es hierfür einen Tisch mit Stühlen. Auf dem Sofa können Sie sich ausruhen oder über Satellitenfernsehen die Nachrichten ansehen.
Linker Hand führt eine Tür in einen kleinen Flur, über den Sie in ein gemütliches Arbeitszimmer gelangen, das über ein Schlafsofa verfügt und in ein Einzelzimmer umgewandelt werden kann. Neben dem Arbeitszimmer gibt es einen großen Abstellraum mit Waschmaschine. Geradeaus befindet sich ein helles, modernes Badezimmer mit Dusche und ohne Fenster. Rechter Hand finden Sie ein großes Schlafzimmer mit viel Schrankraum und einer Doppeltür, die hinaus auf die Terrasse führt.
Das Grundstück ist komplett umzäunt, und Sie können direkt am Haus parken. Neben dem Haus finden Sie Terracottatöpfe mit frisch gepflanzten Kräutern und Blumen sowie eine gut gepflegte Rasenfläche. Der Swimmingpool ist etwa 30 m vom Ferienhaus entfernt. Der Zugang erfolgt durch das Eingangstor des Ferienhauses über die Einfahrt und den wunderbar gepflegten Garten des Hauptgebäudes. Die Eigentümer nutzen ebenfalls den Pool.
Der Eigentümer und seine Schwester wohnen in separaten Häusern neben der Unterkunft und stehen bei Fragen und Problemen hilfreich zur Verfügung. Beide sprechen etwas Englisch.
Haustiere sind nicht erlaubt.

Swimming-Pool Information
Der Swimmingpool ist etwa 30 m vom Ferienhaus entfernt. Der Zugang erfolgt durch das Eingangstor des Ferienhauses über die Einfahrt und den wunderbar gepflegten Garten des Hauptgebäudes.
Der Poolbereich ist gut mit Sonnenliegen, einem Tisch und Stühlen ausgerüstet. Der Pool wird auch von den Eigentümern genutzt.
Er ist 10x5 m groß und1,2 bis 2,3 m tief. Der Swimmingpool ist von Mai bis September geöffnet.
Umgebung
Die Chianti-Stadt Radda ist ungefähr 400 m vom Haus entfernt. Sie können also zu Fuß in die Stadt gehen. In Radda finden Sie alles, was Sie brauchen.

What was your overall impression of the accommodation? It was even better than the description. We had booked this accommodation over a year in advance because it ticked every box on our requirements list and it more than lived up to our expectations.

Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? We have booked with To-tuscany many times now and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, quiet location in the very heart of Tuscany but with excellent amenities within walking distance - a perfect balance. The villa was extremely clean and welcoming.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Besuche in San Giminiani und Besuche von natürlichen Schwefelquellen ( wusste bisher nicht, dass es so etwas in der Toskana gibt.) Frühstücke auf der wirklich tollen Terasse!!
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Sehr gut, freundliche Vermieter, sehr schönes Haus, tolle Gegend. Alles prima. Leider gingen die deutschen Fernsehprogramme nicht, aber die Vermieter waren super bemüht das hinzubekommen.

What were the highlights of your holiday? The villa, Radda in Chianti, the Porciatti family, the many hill top towns we visited, visiting some of the less well known places like Monteriggioni and Cortona, the pace of life, the food, the wine. Sienna, Florence and San Gimignano are musts to visit and within easy reach from the villa by train, car or bus.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation? Villa Casanova is a wonderful place to stay. We stayed there for our two week honeymoon: a most romantic setting overlooking the Tuscan hills and vineyards. It is a very well equipped, modern and extremely clean villa. We found this a perfect location and base to explore the many attractions of Tuscany. The family Porciatti are extremely welcoming and very friendly. The pool is very clean and has fantastic views; a great place to go and unwind at the end of a day. We found the guest book in the villa as an invaluable source of information and would recommend anybody staying to read it. Villa Casanova is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Radda in Chianti which is a beautiful, historic town.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Wonderful food everywhwere, wineries, Radda is a lovely hilltop town, Siena is fantastic, San Gimignano, driving through the countryside, nice people everywhere.

Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Weather was awful. Rained every day in Tuscany, although not all day. Every time the sun came out we ran outside to sit on the patio and take pictures. Just caught a bad week, but it did not stop us from doing our thing. Florence seems overrun by street vendors.,
Do you have any other comments? We would love to return to Tuscany with, hopefully, better weather the next time.

Just caught a bad week, but it did not stop us from doing our thing. Florence seems overrun by street vendors.,

Do you have any other comments? It was a perfect Honeymoon Vila as Lisa had said it would be, the Family that own it were so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The location was ideal you could walk into Radda if you wanted a few glasses of wine in the evening, we found it easy to get to other local towns, Sena was only arond 30mins away. we cant wait to go back!

What were the highlights of your holiday? We had such a great holiday! I think the main reason besides Italy being so amazing is that we stayed in apartments and the villa instead of hotels. Venice was definately a highlight as was Tuscany. We needed to just destress and the villa was perfect for that. We also loved the food and the Chianti, our holiday was way beyond our expectations!

Do you have any other comments? I found To Tuscany quite easily on the web but when we were talking to some Americans they had not come across it so maybe more marketing. We are more than happy with everything and will hopefully be using your service again in the near future.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Visiting Siena on the day of the Palio, the meals at Le Vigne restaurant, spending time at the pool at the villa and meals on the terrace at the villa, driving through the Chianti countryside.

All rooms where tastefully furnished and there was plenty of space. The villa was in an exceptionally good location with wonderful views. The villa hosts were very courteous and helpful.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Crowds and costs in Florence, not being able to actually get into any of the main attractions because of horrendous queues; the state of Pisa outside the field of Miracles; the tawdry street vendors at Pisa; the car hire queues at Pisa airport.

Overall impression: Upon our arrival at the Porciatti family delicatessen we were given a very warm welcome and taken straight away to the accommodation. On arrival the accommodation exceeded our expectations, exceptional views, peaceful and traditionally furnished. The cleanliness of the accommodation was outstanding. Our 17 month old baby was also catered for with a highchair and cot with bedding which was very kind of the owners to provide. Although the accommodation is located next door to the owner’s house we must say you would never know they were there! They were exceptionally hospitable but never imposing.
Highlights: Where do we begin? Siena has to be the highlight..a beautiful city, dare I say that surpassed Florence(!) Also San Gigamano was beautiful, if a little busy. Greve in Chianti is exceptional for shopping for wine/olive oil/meats/cheeses. Florence is a must see – but please take our advice and DO NOT DRIVE – take the train/bus. Buying and consuming “Tonna De Radda” at the Porciatti deli – lovely with a nice glass of chianti and enjoying the beautiful views from our terrace at La Cassanova. Watching the fire flies in the olive groves adjacent to our villa was an amazing sight at night time.
Dining out at La Vigne was a definite highlight…lovely food with warm, welcoming owners…our toddler wandering around exploring cupboards/doors etc did not phase them in the slightest! I have to say as a couple with a young child we were made welcome everywhere by the Italian people – definitely a country to visit with children.
There is lots to see in Tuscany and we shall definitely be returning next year.
Unpleasant surprises:...giant millipedes if you leave your windows open at night!

Overall impression: Both places we stayed at were excellent. I guess the one thing at Radda that have been a down side was the thought of what the heating was going to cost if we used it, so we tended not to use it as we had no idea of what the costs would be and people in the visitors book had said they had been caught out by the expense. I think if places do charge extra for heating, they could at least give you an idea of the hourly cost so you can make a fair judgement.
Danilo at Sillico was very helpful and we appreciated the local wine, cheese and salami he had for us on arrival while showing us highlights in the area and suggested day trips on the map.
Highlights: Hard to say as we enjoyed it all. Lovely to have a base for a week, enabling us to thoroughly explore those areas. Also enjoyed staying in smaller villages and experiencing the local culture/food etc.

Overall impression: The accommodation was immaculately clean, spacious and fully equipped with all we required apart from the fact there was no cd or dvd player.
Highlights: Radda in Chianti. It was by far the most picturesque village in the Tuscan region we visited.
Unpleasant surprises: Yes we mislaid the car in Florence and Pisa as once there, we where lost in the beauty of these Cities, we'd forgotten where we parked. Fortunately we had the good sense to make a note of our location in Siena.

Overall impression: Villa Casanova was fantastic and the Porciati's were wonderful hosts. We were extremely impressed by the quality and first class workmanship of the villa itself. The furnishings were comfortable and cosy. We have stayed in self catering accommodation many times in different places and in terms of amenities, the villa is superior. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to make a meal, the furniture was comfortable and there were plenty of towels, blankets, etc. We had great fun learning how to use a wood bar-b-que and eating one of Luciano's wonderful steaks. We were unfortunate in that the weather turned bad all over Europe the week we were at the villa, so we were not able to use the wonderful outdoor facilities as much as we wanted to. The fact that the villa was so nice on the inside, saved us from being disappointed when it rained and we had to stay indoors.
The view from the villa are beautiful and you can't help but feel tranquil and relaxed. We loved Chianti so much and Radda and the villa that we plan to return in two years time. We just hope that it does not become so popular that we can't get a reservation.

We have just returned from holiday at La Casanove in Radda. I am just writing to thank you all for the arrangements and information for our holiday. Everything exceeded expectations. The accomodation was excellent and the location perfect for all ameneties. Unfortunately we had some bad luck in that I severley injured my back on arrival lifting a suitcase out of the car. This meant that I was bedridden for the first 3 days. However thanks to all the members of the Porciatti family my wife was given all the assistance she could have hoped for. They drove her to a Pharmacy and even arranged for and drove a doctor to attend me. They even brought in groceries for us. As a result by Tuesday I was able to walk a little and the following day drove a short distance. Luckily by Friday I managed to drive to Pisa Airport to get home. (A painful flight though).
I cannot thank the Porciatti`s enough for what they did and if you can contact them please convey our gratitude again. I have promised Roberto (the son) who acted as our translator that we will be back to stay with them and properly sample all the area has to offer.
I could not have wished for better views from a sick bed to aid my recovery.
With many thanks again and a promise to use you for future visits to this beautiful area.

Overall impression: Excellent. La Casanova was very well appointed. Eg a laundry with washing powder, ironing board, front loading washing m/c, clothes drying horse are features we did not find elsewhere in apartments we rented in Italy. Apart from that a lovely lawn, expansive terraces, outdoor dining setting, recliner lounges, outdoor barbecue and magnificent views over a tranquil olive grove and vineyards. The kitchen and dining room were modern, clean and well equipped. The bathroom is spacious and modern. French windows with wonderful louvres open from the bedroom, kitchen and dining room onto the expansive terraces providing great views.
The apartment is located about 400 metres from the township of Radda in Chianti and the walk to town is lovely with great views over two valleys. The peace, quiet and absence of tour buses and tourists was most appreciated.
Highlights: Radda in Chianti, La Casanova and meeting the warm, friendly and very helpful members of the Porciatti family, the owners of the property.

Die Unterbringung war sehr idyllisch und hat sehr gut zum Toskana-Urlaub gepasst. Auch die Poolanlage war wirklich schön, die wir dadurch auch mehrmals genutzt haben.

Eines der Highlights war die von der Anlage organisierte Wanderung zu einer Weinprobe im benachbarten Weingut. Das Borgo Montebuoni ist eine sehr schöne Anlage, Wir werden sie auch gerne weiterempfelen. Speziell Casa Barbara ist eine sehr hübsche, gut eigerichtete Wohnung.
