La Taverna ist die vielleicht einzigartigste von allen Wohnungen in Montebuoni. Der ehemalige Weinkeller, mit einer original aus dem 17.Jh. stammenden Gewölbedecke, ist heute der Wohnbereich. La Taverna hat einen privaten Garten, der über die Haupteingangstür erreichar ist.
Rechts führen Stufen hinunter in den großzügigen Wohnbereich, ein sehr eleganter Raum mit einer Gewölbedecke aus dem 17.Jh und einem offenen Kamin. Er ist sehr komfortable möbliert und verfügt über einen Fernseher und eine separate Ecke mit einer Bar.
Marmorstufen führen vom Wohnzimmer hinunter in den ehemaligen alten Weinkeller, wo seinerzeit der Montebuoni Wein produziert wurde. Dies ist der älteste Teil von Montebuoni. Das außergewöhnliche, aus Steinen gearbeitete Deckengewölbe ist eine Rarität. Aufgrund der ursprünglichen Nutzung als Weinkeller bleibt hier die Temperatur konstant und fühlt sich im Sommer kühl und im Winter warm an. Für die kühlere Jahreszeit und längeren Abende gibt es einen Kamin um dem sich bequeme Sitzmöbel gruppieren. Im Keller gibt es TV, einen Barbereich und ein Sofabett.
The two bedrooms lead off from the kitchen/diner to the left of the stairs. Both have oak beamed ceilings and tiled floors, the double has its own ensuite shower room and there is a separate bathroom next to the twin bedded room.
Der private Garten und die Terrasse sind umrandet von Büschen, Blumen und Gewürzsträuchern. Von der ausgestatteten Terrasse können Sie eine wunderschöne Aussicht genießen. Ein Aussengrill ergänzt die komfortable Ausstattung.

Auf der einen Seite des Anwesens liegt der große Swimmingpool, gesäumt von Büschen und Bäumen mit Blick über die Hügelketten in der Ferne. Ein wundervoller Platz um zu relaxen und die Ruhe und den Frieden dieses zauberhaften Fleckchens Erde zu genießen. Der Pool ist 15m X 7.5m groß und über eine Leiter zugänglich. Es gibt auch ein kleines Kinderbecken mit einer Tiefe von 1m. Beide Pools sind geöffnet von Ostern bis November.
Montebuoni war früher ein großes Landgut, auf dem Wein und Olivenöl produziert wurde. Die originalen Gebäude wurden unter Beibehaltung der alten Strukturen restauriert und in hoher Qualität modernisiert, was heute den besonderen Charme von Montebuoni ausmacht. Alle Apartments sind liebevoll eingerichtet und die meisten haben ihre eigene Terrasse, ihren privaten Garten oder einen Balkon.
In der Nähe des Poolbereichs befindet sich ein Tennisplatz mit Kunstrasen, Schläger und Bälle können ausgeliehen werden. Nur einen Spaziergang von Montebuoni entfernt liegt ein kleines typisches Chianti Örtchen mit einem Laden, der alles für den täglichen Bedarf bietet, sowie lokale Weine, Käse, Schinken und Öl. Empfehlenswert ist auch der Besuch mit Verkostung der Weine des Weinguts Castello di Ama, einem der bekanntesten Weinproduzenten des Chianti. Oder lernen Sie die fantastische toskanische Küche bei einem Kurs in der Kochschule „Toscana Mia“ kennen, die längere und kürzere Kurse anbietet, bei denen auch Kinder mit einbezogen werden können.
Montebuoni liegt ideal für Besichtigungen der größeren toskanischen Städte, vieler historischer Sehenswürdigkeiten und einer Vielzahl charakteristischer Dörfer in der näheren Umgebung. Nur wenige Gehminuten von einem typischen Chiantiort erwarten Sie traumhafte Ausblicke und herrliche Ruhe.
Gut eingerichtete Häuser mit privaten Innenhöfen und Gärten schmiegen sich zwischen Eichen, Pinien und Zypressen. Sie wurden mit original Baumaterialien renoviert und behielten so ihren ursprünglichen Charme. Der Pool ist 15 x 7,5m groß, ein kleines Kinderbecken 1m tief – geöffnet von Ostern bis November.

Wegen der zentralen Lage ist Montebuoni der ideale Ausgangspunkt für Besichtigungen der historischen Städt der Toskana wie Florenz und Siena. San Gimignan ist ca. eine Stunde Autofahrt entfernt. Noch näher liegen die fünf Chianti Orte - die Heimat des Gallo Nero - für kürzere Ausflüge und Besichtigungen.
Die ruhigen Strassen eignen sich sehr gut für Fahrradtouren oder lange Spaziergänge. Nach einem Erholungstag oder einer Besichtiogungstour können Sie abends die herrlichen Sonnenuntergänge genießen.
Umgebung
Montebuoni liegt etwa 3km von dem kleinen Örtchen Lecchi in Chianti entfernt. Dort finden Sie einen Lebensmittelladen mit frischen Produkten, eine Bar, die von Ostern bis Oktober geöffnet ist und ein Restaurant, das ganzjährig geöffnet ist. Zu Fuß können Sie ebenso San Sano erreichen. Nach 15 Minuten Fahrt sind Sie in Radda in Chianti.

What were the highlights of your stay? Visiting Casanuova di Ana, met some other travellers there that we will likely connect with in the future. Dinner & Lunch in Lecchi on various days - walking back thru the path (needs some clipping for ease of travel). Visits to Radda for dinner and wine tasting. Biking around Griole and area. Option for fresh bread and milk daily is excellent and very helpful.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation? We loved due leoni, it met and exceeded our expectations for a self contained suite. Once we realized that we wouldn't be able to drive to the suite, and got organized around this fact, we loved the quiet peaceful contemplative spot. Areas for improvement are: front left burner is very difficult to light - I think it needs adjustment, it is the most powerful burner so one needs to use it. Small face towels - don't Italians use them? Bed side lighting is too dark for reading in bed. These were minor issues but I think the stove needs to be looked at. The binder was extremely helpful with clear specific instructions - we took it with us when we went out every day and got us to all the local sites with no mishaps.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? Only thing is that pool towel cost extra - seems like a petty charge when the linen is only replaced weekly.

What was your overall impression of the accommodation? The property (La Stella at Montebuoni) was fantastic. The beds, bathrooms, and kitchen were tasteful and well appointed. We used the fireplace which was a treat to have. The patio is a real plus. Your on-site agents fantastic!!
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? No. Electricity went off once but remedy was explained in advance.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? Free access to internet would have been a real plus. As it was one had to go to information point, create an account and pay for minutes used.

What were the highlights of your stay? Hearing Cuckoos all day. Wild flowers.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation? Met expectations. Clean & adequate. Of a reasonable standard. Bed was comfortable. My particular apartment only had 2 windows so lacked natural light (I did realise that from the accommodation plan though).
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? Shower head rail come away from wall when I touched it. The washing machine didn't work (drum belt gone).
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? I couldn't get the TV to work. I searched for instructions (ended up not watching it at all) - it was possibly that it needed new batteries in the remote control (it seemed to be stuck on standby). A manual or instructions would have been much appreciated. It was quite a few days before I found somebody to sort the shower problem out but they did get it fixed that day. The people I saw were very helpful. It was great that there was a computer in the office but free wifi would have been even better.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Die Ruhe. Nachts konnte man die Käuzchen und die Uhus rufen hören. Arbeiten die in der Anlage erledigt werden mussten wurden unauffällig und niemals störend erledigt. Die Menschen sind einfach nette freundliche Menschen. Zu den Highlights muss man zählen die Besuche in Sienna und Florenz aber auch das nahegelegene Radda ist mit seinen feinen Restaurants immer ein Besuch wert. Zweifelsohne gehören die Wanderungen in den Hügeln und Weinbergen ebenfalls zu den Highlights. Man muss die Scheu überwinden manchmal eine private Wiese zu überqueren dann aber geht es endlos weiter. Die Landschaft ist Erholung pur und als Fotograf bin ich voll auf meine Kosten gekommen.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck der Unterbrungung? Die Casa Veccia ist ein kleines aber feines Domizil. Für 4 Erwachsene fand ich es ein wenig klein aber sicher ausreichend für eine kleine Familie. Schlechtes Wetter hatten wir gottseidank nicht und so war die sehr schöne Terrasse immer teil unseres Wohnzimmers. Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet. Die Steckdosen brauchen Adapter, daran hatten wir nicht gedacht und so war es immer ein bisschen wirr mit dem Umstecken. Kaffeemaschine, Fotoapparate, Computer und Handys wollten immer geladen werden wenn wir nach langen Wanderungen nach Hause kamen. Die Umgebung ist herrlich und der Blick über eine typische toskanische Landschaft einfach grandios. In den ersten Maiwochen ist man beinahe alleine in der Anlage und die Ruhe ist sagenhaft. Es gibt sogar ein Brötchenservice der jeden Morgen frische Brötchen lieferte. Alles perfekt.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Nein
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Das Adapterproblem bei den Steckdosen sollte man lösen. Nicht jeder wird daran denken und in der heutigen Zeit hat jeder auch persönliche Geräte die Strombedarf haben.

After first day the broiler went out so we didn't have hot water for Easter Sunday. However, I called my contact there and within 20 minutes someone was over and corrected the issue.

What were the highlights of your holiday? O too many to mention :-) But certainly the fact that I got proposed on our terrace, at Il Forno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next time we might rent a somewhat bigger house because the baby gets bigger and then she can get her own room... But the house is very clean, and cosy, with nice furniture and frames on the walls. And in the kitchen is everything you need!
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? There were more ants then last year, maybe because it was a lot warmer? They tend to come in through the front door, so we had to clean with a lot of soap and salt some times.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Being in such a picturesque setting in the middle of the stunning Chianti countryside. Exploring the area, and visiting some of the beautiful cities/sights nearby.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? Our villa was lovely. Very clean and spacious and quiet. We could have done with a maid service each day, but it was handy having a dishwasher and washing machine. The main shower head was faulty, so whenever we had a shower, the water spurted out sideways and all over the floor, but I did inform Katya of this so hopefully it has been fixed for other guests. Overall though, we were delighted, as we had had some reservations before arriving and thought the villa might be too small for us, but that was not the case. It was really perfect.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? No.
Do you have any other comments? We would use To-Tuscany again should we return to Italy - which I hope we do!

Do you have any other comments? The instructions for the villa could have been a little more descriptive. As foreigners, we had a few minor difficulties finding the villa. A few more details about its location and what to look for, e.g. "montebourno is the estate of villas and is situated approx. 1.5km from Lecchi on Road X"

What were the highlights of your holiday? The exploration of the area. Radda in Chianti had a little COOP with excellent hams, salamis and cheeses and olves and pesto. The people in the area are very friendly and the wine tasting at Meleto wineyard was as good now as it was 14 years ago.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? Overall impression was good. A beautiful place with stunning scenery. Felt a bit impersonal, a part from gardeners not many seen.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? L'Oliveta was unpleasantly cold. Heating with airconditioning units was uneffective and will probably be expensive. There was a woodstove there we could use, but with a child aged 1 1/2 not ideal. I was cold most of the time although we had the aircon on heating.

Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? sehr gepflegte Anlage Die Wohnung ist eher ein kleines Häuschen und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Allerdings ist es sehr hellhörig zu den Nachbarn. Insgesamt sehr gute Ausstattung. Gemütliche Sofas und toller Kaminofen, der bei Bedarf schnell warm macht. Schönes Hauptbad, das durch das Dachfenster sehr hell ist. Küche und Wohnbereich sind etwas dunkel. Bei schlechten Wetter ist das tagsüber nicht so schön, wenn man nicht raus auf die große Terrasse kann. Die Zufahrt auf der Schotterstraße hat sehr viele Schlaglöcher, das ist unnagenehm wenn man nicht gerade einen Jeep hat.

What were the highlights of your holiday? The cooking class with Simone was definitely the highlight... we also really enjoyed the winery tour at Casanuevo d'ama. We enjoyed day trips to numerous villages and wineries and the food was spectacular everywhere we went!

Did you have any unpleasant surprises? It isn't an unpleasant surprise, but my only comment is that the apartment needed a few basic supplies such as dishwashing soap, sugar, paper towel and saran wrap. We had brought soap and toilet paper and coffee for example but when you are travelling overseas, these basics are not things that you bring or would take home. We left the items we had purchased behind. It isn't the expense of the supplies but the convenience. I would rather pay a bit more and have them on hand upon arrival
Do you have any other comments? No, we were very happy with the accomodations and would go back (in a heartbeat!). Your service was great and we would book through you again. I have already recommended your site to friends.

What were the highlights of your holiday? The winetasting afternoon was definitely a highlight, although the walk through the vineyards was unfortunately up the access road, and was quite a hike. Daniela's hospitality made it all worthwhile, however. Sitting out on our terrace in the evenings, looking over the vineyards, was something I'll never forget. The washing machine in the villa was also a highlight!
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? L'Oliveta was a charming cottage, it looked just like the photos and had a great sense of privacy, facing away from the hamlet and across the vineyards. The living areas, bathroom and kitchen weren't huge, but they were perfectly fine for three people.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? I was surprised how cool Tuscany could be in September. We had some rain and the temperature dropped quite significantly, particularly at night, and we needed the blankets in the cottage. There were some niggly things: the taps seemed to be backwards in the shower (C was actually cold), there was no sponge or brush for washing up. I was also surprised by the remote feel of Montebuoni, which seemed to be a very long way down a long dirt and cement track on the first night, with only one-way access at times, and the time generally required to get around when sightseeing, which is exacerbated by the narrow, winding roads. The driving was quite stressful, I'm not sure I'd recommend Tuscany as a relaxing holiday, and you couldn't really eat out at night without needing to drive back to the villa.
Do you have any other comments? Overall, the accommodation was everything I expected and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Next time, I would probably book somewhere where I could walk into a local village for dinner and then home again, or stay in a larger town like Siena. I did wonder what happens to all the leftover items from starter packs - sugar, rubbish bags, detergent, coffee etc - since there is more included than could reasonably be used in a week. Some of these things I think might be better supplied in a small quantity as part of the accommodation rather than having people rebuy them every week.

What were the highlights of your holiday? The winetasting afternoon was definitely a highlight, although the walk through the vineyards was unfortunately up the access road, and was quite a hike. Daniela's hospitality made it all worthwhile, however. Sitting out on our terrace in the evenings, looking over the vineyards, was something I'll never forget. The washing machine in the villa was also a highlight!
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? L'Oliveta was a charming cottage, it looked just like the photos and had a great sense of privacy, facing away from the hamlet and across the vineyards. The living areas, bathroom and kitchen weren't huge, but they were perfectly fine for three people.

As a part time photographer going to the different beautiful sites, making images, in great sunny weather, was a dream. What were the highlights of your holiday? Eating breakfast in the garden at La Vigna. The bread and milk service were a nice touch. The tour and dinner at the nearby vineyard were lovely and gave us a chance to get to know some of the other visitors and the hosts.

Did you have any unpleasant surprises? A scorpion in our living room - that the property manager promptly removed for us. Twice the water stopped, apparently the pump was hit by lightening. Both bad luck!

What were the highlights of your holiday? We traveled from Rome (3 days there) to the villa and traveled daily except for one day to other places- Florence, Perguia, Pisa, the coast, etc. We did a bike ride in Florence through http://www.tuscany-biketours.com/ and it was AMAZING.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? Great location if traveling in Central Italy. The villa was the perfect size for 2 (maybe with child) and even though it seemed to have the smallest private patio area of all of the villas, still had your own space. The other guests were around, but didn't feel like a hotel or crowded. Very nice location.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? No adapter plug in the kitchen, but staff gave us one right away. Not unpleasant at all, that was really the only thing I could even mention.

What were the highlights of your holiday? We traveled from Rome (3 days there) to the villa and traveled daily except for one day to other places- Florence, Perguia, Pisa, the coast, etc. We did a bike ride in Florence through http://www.tuscany-biketours.com/ and it was AMAZING.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? Great location if traveling in Central Italy. The villa was the perfect size for 2 (maybe with child) and even though it seemed to have the smallest private patio area of all of the villas, still had your own space. The other guests were around, but didn't feel like a hotel or crowded. Very nice location.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? No adapter plug in the kitchen, but staff gave us one right away. Not unpleasant at all, that was really the only thing I could even mention.

Hi Lisa!
I just wanted to say we spent the PERFECT Holiday in Tuscany, in our little Il Forno house at Montebuoni!!
It was the very first holiday with our little baby (8 months) and it was our best holiday ever!!
The house was very comfortable and felt like home!!
Also the service was very good: we had a little problem with the shower, and the very same day it got fixed!!
We cooked every evening and enjoyed eating on our terrace, accompanied by a bottle of nice Chianti wine, while our little girl was asleep inside...
She also slept very well near the pool, under a tree, while we were reading and swimming.
And Florence and Siena are so nearby!! We also liked Volterra and Volpaia.
Excellent place, we will definetely come back, and bring friends and family!!

Just to thank To Tuscany for another wonderful holiday at Montebuoni. We stayed last week in La Stalla, which was very nice and well equipped, and much larger that we thought it would be.The tennis court, pool and grounds are just lovely and all so well kept. We also had glorious sunshine all week!

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Die Anlage, das Haus und der Ausblick übertrafen die Erwartungen. Jeder Tag war ein Highlight. :-)
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die gesamte Anlage ist seht gut und stetig gepflegt sowie gut verwaltet. Lediglich der Pool wurde nicht regelmäßig gereinigt. Wahrscheinlich, weil zu dem Zeitpunkt kaum Gäste vor Ort waren und die Pooltemperaturen recht kühl waren.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Wildschweine mit Frischlingen bei einer Wanderung. :-)
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Montebuoni ist ein Geheimtip. Ich hoffe, dass nur solche Gäste diese Perle in der Toskana finden, die die hier vorzufindene Ruhe, Sauberkeit und Privatsphäre respektieren und wahren. Montebuoni ist weit schöner, als es sich auf den Internetseiten darstellen läßt. Die winzigen Örtchen "um die Ecke" Lecchi und SanSano ,zeigen viel mehr von dem wahren und schönen Toskanaleben als die großen Touristenabfertigungsmagneten. Die Panoramen zu den Olivenhängen auf der einen Seite der Anlage sowie zu den Weinhängen auf der anderen Seite sind traumhaft. Montebuoni verleitet zur regelmäßigen Wiederkehr. Die Verwalter sind top.

Overall impression: It absolutely exceeded our expectations, alot more spacious than we were expecting and beaufifully decorated with all the facilities we needed.
Highlights: Spending warm evenings sipping wine on the terrace watching the sun set, and taking in the atmosphere and soaking up the sunshine by the lovely pool.
Unpleasant surprises: Not at all.

Overall impression: As per usual Due Leoni was perfect.
Highlights: Enjoying the Tuscan countryside, visiting our favourite restaurants and finding a new restaurant we had never visited before. Also nice to catch up with Sean again and sample his wonderful olive oil. Visiting Daniella Bencini for our own wine and oil tasting. Also enjoying the atmosphere sitting outside at Paulo's bar in Lecchi enjoying a glass of Tuscan red wine.

Overall impression: Comfortable and easy to use, we felt at home. The next door neighbors
were a delight.
Highlights: The reason we came was to participate in the Eroica, the cycle event
in Gaiole. We'll be back next year as well and I plan on requesting the same accommodations.

Overall impression: It was beautiful! It was perfect for our honeymoon. The pictures on your website don't do it justice.
Highlights: We loved visiting many of the little towns in Tuscany - just walking around enjoying the atmosphere. We really liked visiting Anghiari, which is near Arezzo. It was recommended to us by friends. Probably the biggest hightlight was taking a cooking class at Toscana Mia with Simonetta. It was so much fun and just something a little different to do.

We loved La Stalla. There was plenty of room for four of us and it was very well equipped the terrace was really nice with plenty of room.

In response to your question as to what we did or did not like about your service, I will respond by telling you that not only have we decided to return to Montebuoni for a month next summer, but we are bringing as many as 6 couples with us.
I have referred them all to your web site. I can't thank you enough for all of the suggestions offered through your web site and the info book in allowing us to put together our own itinerary. In spite of your good directions, we have decided to purchase a GPS which I'm certain will add hours to our trip. Unless you are able to speed read at the intersections, I would advise this purchase to anyone traveling in Italy.
The cooking class with Simone at Malborghetto was a delight. I haven't done anything like that before but am reluctant to share my pleasure for fear that when I return, there won't be room for me.
The computers at the office were helpful in letting us stay in touch with family and friends and I can't speak highly enough about the office staff, especially when they helped us out with cell phone service.
The only change I would recommend is that we played tennis every day on that wonderful court, but kept losing balls that would escape in the opening at the bottom of the fence. One other comment, everything on the property was lovely with the exception of the covered area by the pool and tennis court. Some minor painting would greatly improve the appearance of the lovely pool area.
All in all, it would be hard to improve on our trip and want to thank all involved to make Montebuoni such a special place.

Overall impression: It was well appointed and spacious. The kitchen in particular was outstanding. We made a few great meals there. There are only two minor issues I should mention. The tennis court needs a little work and the sole washing machine is innadequate for the number of people using it. Other than those things the surroundings are breathtaking and we got a chance to see and participate in some grape harvesting.
Highlights: The wonderful hill towns of the area and the great food and provisions. The weather was beautiful the whole two weeks except one day. Can't complain about that. We went to the wednesday wine and food tasting and it was very special. The wines and olive oil and the food prepared were excellent. We met some very nice people and stuck up friendships that, I am sure, will last a long time.

Overall impression: Well looked after and clean, lots of homely furniture, games, books, kitchen equipment, nice outside area, although not secluded it wasn't over looked and the bed was very comfortable!

Overall impression: We loved La Vigna, and Montebuoni in general. We felt that we
couldn't have found anywhere that we would have liked more for our holiday. The peace and quiet was fantastic! La Vigna was particularly nice in that being tucked away, there is not a lot of 'passing traffic' on the gravel. We're pretty sociable people, but it was nice to be tucked away. The views are stunning. It is simply idyllic.
It was really nice to have a washing machine in the villa. I heard a few mutterings about the on-site one having a 2 hour cycle!
The only issue that we had was with the shower curtain - it was only long enough to stretch across one side, whereas it needed to fit around two sides. We tried to be very careful because we were worried about water damage, so always put towels down around the edge, and tried to contain as much water within the shower. We did mention it twice, and someone did come to look at it whilst we were out one day (footprints in the shower!), but it didn't get
fixed. Even if a double one was not available, another single on would have done the trick. [our comment: the owner has been made aware of it and it is being fixed]
Highlights: Getting away from it all, yet being well situated to explore the Chianti area - all the places we wanted to see such as Siena, San Gimignano and Castellina are easily accessible. We went to the Wednesday wine tasting which was great fun. Daniela was great, and we met some really nice people. We got together again for a drink by the pool on the Friday evening!
We loved Malborghetto - the food was excellent and they were very friendly and welcoming.
It was great to have the tennis court.

couldn't have found anywhere that we would have liked more for our holiday. The peace and quiet was fantastic! The walk through the vineyards was beautiful, the hospitality was superb and we loved the wines so much we went back to buy more. We enjoyed staying in eating excellent local produce and relaxing as much as we enjoyed going exploring the cities and towns around us (our favourites being San Gimgnano and Castellina - best icecream and pizza respectively!!!). I would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Overall impression: Absolutely heavenly. Because it is a privately owned home, the furnishings surpassed our expectations and the house was extremely comfortable and well equipped with a beautiful garden - perfect for sitting out for breakfast and dinner.
Highlights: Waking up in the morning and looking out of the bedroom window at the beautiful view of the Tuscan hills and vineyards. Having the swimming pool and tennis court within easy readh - but not too close to the house. Enjoying the wonderful local restaurants and exploring the surrounding countryside.
Unpleasant surprises: Queueing at Rome Airport to collect a pre-booked hire car for three and a half hours was the most unpleasant part of the whole trip!
At the end of a very long journey, after turning off the main road from Lecchi, turning right instead of left and having to negotiate an extremely difficult hill, then discovering we were in the wrong place, having arrived at the vineyard next door. The signpost to Montebuoni on the main road is clear but the next one is overgrown and not visible. [our response - the management of Montebuoni is going to fix this]
Although not unpleasant but certainly a surprise - the couple sleeping in the downstairs bedroom woke at 4.00 a.m. to the sound of what they thought was rain - but it turned out to be the sprinkler coming on! Because the garden always looked as though it had been watered, we had thought there must be a little man coming round with a hose before we were awake!!

The hamlet itself blends into the surrounding landscape beautifully, and the gardens were a delight. I particularly enjoyed watching the bees, butterflies and all manner of other insects feeding off the lavendar. Having stayed at La Contessina before, I knew what to expect and booked it again because it suited my needs perfectly. My two daughters, who hadn't been before, thought it was just perfect. If the owner is ever thinking of selling, please let me know!

The house (La Scala) is lovely and ideal for our needs - clean, spacious and with all modern comforts and a lovely private garden. Montebuoni is wonderfully quiet and peaceful - a real haven away from our usual noisy London existence! At the end of our journey it was heaven to arrive there. The facilities are great - the pool is lovely and the hamlet is safe for children. You can meet other guests but have privacy at the same time. The wine-tasting is a lovely experience and again children are welcome. Montebuoni is an ideal base from which to tour the Chianti region but there are plenty of good restaurants and local shops within a short drive if you don't feel like venturing far.

The accommodation was tastefully furnished and the buildings as a whole had been very well converted. It was great to have our own garden, as well as a terrace. The gardens were lovely and the pool was well sited. We liked the views and appreciated the peace and quiet.

honeymoon, the views were breathtaking as were the sunsets. We had our
wedding in Brolio, so not far for us to travell and we loved the whole area,

We had seen L'Oliveta before and we liked it a lot.... Therefore our overall
impression was great and we were not disappointed.
We liked that it was a separate house and the terrace. Especially since we
had 2 boys with us, they could play outside and not bother other people
staying at Montebuoni.
The location is ideal. Right in the middle of Chianti, close to some lovely
small towns. The view from L'Oliveta is also special especially the sun
sets.

We loved Montebuoni and the area. Everything about our two weeks was perfect and our time there was the best part of our month long trip. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We then took a train to Rome where we spent five days. The weather was fabulous and Rome had its usual buzz but there were very few tourists. We were able to do the tourist things wherever we wanted without lines and crowds. We then picked up a car, taking two days to get to Montebuoni, exploring around Belsena and Montalcino. As we headed north from Siena, we could not believe the beauty of the land. After all the planning, looking at web sites, travel books and maps, arriving in Radda and then Montebuoni was like a dream. It was like we had imagine it, but more. Pictures do not capture how it feels, smells, and looks when you are there. Our accommodations were fabulous. Sean and Sabrina are delightful, although, we did not see a great deal of them as they had family visiting. But, we did get to see the beautiful babies. Having two weeks there gave us time to be and do. We had some city excursions to Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence which were great adventures, but, we loved being in the country. We had a great time at the cooking school for two days and learned a lot about the culture. Exploring the smaller towns was really a treat. We usually ate lunch out, drank cappuccino and some very good wines. Neither of us much likes driving at night, especially in unfamiliar places, so we would pick up something easy to cook during our outings and be back to our terrace to watch the sun set. We took asfew days to just hang out. We loved feeling the season change each day. We could feel winter creep in as the mists in the valleys increased just a tad bit each morning. Each sunset was spectacularly unique as the sun moved lightly to the left each day. We loved watching the grape harvest and old people in Radda and Lecchi. There are just so many moments that were special. We loved being in those moments. Don and I are very grateful to you for introducing us to this very special place. We drove back to Geneva via the Lake District, spent a few more days in Geneva and returned home. The trip was a perfect length of time. We were ready to come home. We found that we missed our life...our dogs, our friends, our family, our routines, water pressure, our house. I can see that there is a real shift in energy between vacationing in a place and living in a place. We were on vacation.

Die Highlights waren die super schöne Gegend und die traumhaften Sonnenuntergänge. Auch die jeweiligen Ortschaften in der Umgebung (z.B. Siena) gehören ebenfalls zu den Höhepunkten des Urlaubs. Die Unterbringung war sehr idyllisch und hat sehr gut zum Toskana-Urlaub gepasst. Auch die Poolanlage war wirklich schön, die wir dadurch auch mehrmals genutzt haben.

Eines der Highlights war die von der Anlage organisierte Wanderung zu einer Weinprobe im benachbarten Weingut. Das Borgo Montebuoni ist eine sehr schöne Anlage, Wir werden sie auch gerne weiterempfelen. Speziell Casa Barbara ist eine sehr hübsche, gut eigerichtete Wohnung.
