    Die Kathedrale von Arezzo, auch als Duomo dei Santi Donato e Pietro bekannt, befindet sich an der Stelle eines vorchristlichen Tempels im hügeligen Norden der Stadt. Der hohe Dom aus dem späten 13. Jahrhundert hat einen gotischen Glockenturm, wirkt aber immer noch wie auf dem Hügel gestrandet. In der Kathedrale befinden sich schöne Glasfenster aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und das gotische Grab von Guido Tarlati, das neben dem friedvollen Fresko der Heiligen Maria Magdalena von Piero della Francesca steht. Im Gegensatz zu den Fresken in der Basilika von San Francesco, die Reisegruppen anziehen, kann dieses Werk vergleichsweise in Ruhe betrachtet werden. Wenn Ihnen der Sinn nach sakraler Kunst steht, besuchen Sie das Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra (Museum für sakrale Kunst) hinter der Kathedrale. Im Inneren sind mittelalterliche Kruzifixe und Vasari-Fresken aus anderen Kirchen der Region zu sehen.
