    Dieses beeindruckende Herrenhaus fühlt sich wie ein Privathaus an - und es war auch zu Beginn das Zuhause eines angesehenen Alabasterhändlers, dessen Erben noch heute hier leben. Giuseppe Viti (1816-60) reiste um die Welt, um seine Waren zu präsentieren und verkaufte in Indien seinen Alabaster an den örtlichen Rajah und wurde dann bizarrerweise zum Emir von Nepal ernannt.  Die Fassade des Herrenhauses wird Ammannati zugeschrieben, der auch am Palazzo Pitti in Florenz arbeitete. Jeder Raum ist großartiger als der andere, geschmückt mit Kunst, Porzellan und Alabaster, eine Erinnerung daran, dass der Palast einst einem der reichsten Bürger Volterras gehörte. Renaissancebauten wie diese fügen sich überraschend harmonisch in die mittelalterlichen Häuser Volterras ein. Nach der Erkundung der Patrizierpaläste ziehen Sie sich in die Cantine del Palazzo, die etruskisch-römischen Keller unter dem Palazzo Incontri-Viti, zurück, um ein Getränk oder eine Mahlzeit in einer höhlenartigen Umgebung, mit einer römischen Zisterne als Dekoration, einzunehmen.

Mirella lives with her husband Stefano (her partner in life and in the kitchen!) in a small town called Antella located in the South of Florence. Meet Mirella at her home for a hands-on Italian cooking class during which you will learn to make 3-4 dishes including homemade pasta.
Mirella’s approach to cooking has been influenced by both Florentine Renaissance (Tuscan nobility) and her proud Tuscan roots. Your meal will include antipasti, pasta, a main and dessert. Mirella uses seasonal ingredients and has a different menu for every season. A sample menu might include bruschetta or vegetable tart, penne with ragù, Tuscan meatballs with seasonal vegetables and cioccolatissimo (decadent chocolate dessert). Your meal includes a glass of prosecco with the antipasto and two glasses of wine with the meal. Mirella also offers limoncello or vin santo with dessert.
